Shakeela joined the Needle Partnership as an Associate in January 2012 after leaving Kirbys solicitors in Harrogate. She is an experienced Matrimonial solicitor who is a member of Resolution and a Higher Rights qualified Solicitor-Advocate.

Shakeela undertakes all aspects of family law work, such as:

• Divorce and Judicial Separation;
• Financial settlements by agreement or through the Court process;
• Prenuptial/Postnuptial agreements;
• Cohabitation Disputes including property disputes and business disputes;
• Children issues including Residence/Shared Residence/Contact/Leave to Remove/Abduction;
• Domestic Violence; and
• International Family law.

She is also able to assist and provide specialist advice to the Muslim Community in Islamic Family Law and advise clients how best to reach a resolution which is acceptable under English Law and is also Sharia’h (Islamic Law) compliant.

Shakeela works closely with the Corporate and Commercial teams to advise on complex and high net worth divorces involving share and property ownership.

Shakeela is well known for her determined approach and ability in reaching favourable settlements for her clients through the court process or with her excellent negotiation skills.

Outside work Shakeela enjoys playing tennis, cooking and spending time with her family.
